Great Westerner – First Great Western
First Great Western (FGW) is one of the largest train operators in the UK carrying 1.5 million passengers every week. They call at a total of 276 stations stretching from London to Penzance and covering the length and breadth of the South West of England.
Last year, FGW and the Department for Transport agreed additional marketing funds to promote train travel in the South West of England. As a predominantly rural area with nearly 5 million people living there, the train is often seen as a lifeline to population centres.
The aim of this campaign was to increase the number and frequency of leisure trips made by train, as well as building positive brand engagement.
